This process can be done by disc but if the Navigation is frozen it may not work. It is best to us the SD Card - it seems to work every time whether it is frozen or not. The DNX process is very similar but some things will be done differently so follow the instructions below very carefully :. One is for the Kenwood unit itself, this must be done first. The second is for the Garmin navigation, this is done after the Kenwood update is complete.
Once the file is extracted there should be 2 files within the folder. Transfer the garmin folder to a CDR and burn it to the Disc. Insert the CDR.

I was surprised by this. It still seems odd that -sometimes- Garmin doesn't use their normal map format in their units. You'd think that they wouldn't care and the Kenwood maps would just be re-labeled to satisfy some Kenwood contract. I find that my map will not show all the street names in my immediate area. However when I scroll the map or stop the car for a while they all appear. Is there a way to downgrade my map to a previous version? Doing a bit of research on forums leads me to believe a prior map version might solve my problem.

I got lost a few days ago, because it had me where there were no streets shown. Time to do something or wait for ! If you're referring to the instructions for updating the DNX, I dont think so. This installed Mapsorce to my computer and updated the DNX It would not update the internal memory but it did copy the map to a 2gb SD card installed in the unit.
This put the map to After I registered the map with Garmin the Garmin site showed there was a free downloadable update available. I downloaded the update and ran the program which updated the internal memory of the DNX, not the SD card, to my surprise. It also added the new map to Mapsorce on my computer. During this portion of the update I had removed the SD card. So when you ran the FYI I installed the I have installed some different voices, by using the web updater.
