Join Date Feb Posts I am loosing connection to the access point but when I am double checking with netgear I found out that the device discovery from vista messes with the router? In any case did you try to update the routers firmware and checked if that is working for you or not. I think that it is definitely the problem with the router but I didnt really put much thought about that.
So, I went to their site and then downloaded the latest firmware and upgraded my router but then when I checked the box of this router then it indicated that it supports XP only. Join Date Oct Posts Join Date Oct Posts Try to add static ip to your system.
You can find that in Network Sharing Center. You can collect that settings from your ISP. Once it is manually added you can simply get a constant connection. I had did that and my internet problem was solved on Vista.
Vista does not has any internal option to configure the settings and save them so that you can import them directly. There are many bios which are having a internal ethernet tester. When you hit that option it tells you whether the board port is getting reply or not.
I always test my lan on it. But if still it is not working then adding a lan card in another wise option. My system was having two lan port. It was a laptop. On both the internet was not working. I thought there is some issue with the hardware. A friend recommended to update the bios and things were solved. Vista has no problem related to settings. If your internet line is not proper you will face such issues. Join Date May Posts 1. Possible Fix. Can Ayone Confirm? I had gone through the same issue after performing a upgrade to vista.
It was very annoying and complicated to get proper fix for internet connectivity. Each time when I try to configure my net it lost all the settings. It is required to access temp ip from the router or modem. I had reset my mode and then reconfigured all stuff from scratch. It started working fine and till today there is no problem at all.

It only appears at the time of downloading large files or else things were working fine. Hi all, a few days ago i installed windows vista clean install and now my internet connection drops every 3 - 10 minutes. While my other computers stay connected, the vista system disconnects. I don't get any notification that the connection is lost through the network connection activity icon on the taskbar, i usually just know becuase I'm playing an online game or surfing when it happens.
Many of these constantly lose connection with the network. After contacting HP and Sony they told us we would have to work with Microsoft. We have been working with them and are on second level support and are getting nowhere. Glad it took Microsoft a week to come back and tell me what I knew already. How about a fix? Come on Microsoft get you act together and fix this Vista issue and the slowness of the product or I can no longer be a supporter of Vista.
